Things to Do in Neenah

Neenah’s location on the banks of Lake Winnebago, Little Lake Butte des Morts, and the Fox River means there’s plenty of places to launch a boat or enjoy canoeing and kayaking. Visitors from far and wide join the Fox Cities’ annual paddling events, including the Park-to-Park Paddle in the summer, an 8.4-mile trek from Neenah to Appleton. Neenah City is home to 26,300 people, while the Town of Neenah, just three miles away, has a population of 3,237. Both communities have highly ranked public schools. Schools in the suburban communities of Winneconne and Butte des Morts are comparable in ranking with schools in the two Neenahs.

On Feb. 23-25, 2007, Wisconsin experienced a blizzard accompanied by winds of up to 45 miles per hour. Neenah and Winnebago County received 12.5 inches of snow. Barring any storm, Neenah typically gets 40 inches of snow per year versus the U.S. average of 28 inches, and about 31 inches of rain annually compared with the national average of 38 inches.
