Austin’s Schools  

Austin Independent School District (AISD) is the fifth-largest in the state. There are 30 campuses in this district, with over 80,100 enrolled students. A few of these highly-rated private academies are St. Andrew's Episcopal School, Austin Peace Academy, and Headwaters School.

Getting Around in Austin

Due to the technology boom that the city has experienced, many new residents have flooded the city, resulting in tremendous traffic on the roads. I-35 and SH-130 run north and south, in and out of the town. 183A and SH-45 connect you to downtown and around the outskirts of the city. All these major roads are jam-packed during morning and evening traffic hours.  

There are plenty of taxi cabs, Uber, and Lyft rideshare services to help you get around town. RideAustin is also a rideshare service offered by the city with more cost-effective rates. 

Capital Metro is Austin’s public transit system that runs through Downtown and the Greater Austin Area. The MetroRapid is an express bus service that runs between North and South Austin. MetroRail is another way to get around to downtown and neighboring cities. Finally, the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is roughly about a 30-minute trip from anywhere in Austin.
