One of the preliminary Miss America pageants, the Miss Ohio Pageant, takes place at The Renaissance in Mansfield each year. The city has also held the Richland County Fair each August since 1849 at the Richland County Fairgrounds. Mid-Ohio Opera provides masterclasses annually to local musicians and music students at the John and Pearl Conard Performance Hall at Ohio State University Mansfield. In the heart of the city’s downtown area, locals and visitors can learn more about the region’s history at the Mansfield Memorial Museum, built in 1887.
